Commuting And Social Distancing

Heading back to work but worried about social distancing on public transport?

You’re not alone!

To help you get back to work safely without worrying about using public transport we have an affordable range of economical moped scooters. They are cheap to run, provide a range of anything up to 90 miles on a single overnight charge and are practically maintenance free.

If you passed your driving test before 1st February 2001, your licence already allows you to ride the X-Tra or Senda. otherwise you will need either a provisional licence with a CBT or a full motorbike license.

And if you already have a CBT or full licence, why not consider the 50mph 125cc equivalent Ultra with its 4000W motor and powerful 72V 40ah battery.

Thousands of people have started thinking about how they will get to work but still maintain social distancing once the lockdown lifts.  The Government is suggesting that you walk or cycle to work.  But if this doesn’t work for you, then perhaps commuting on an electric moped or electric scooter (starting at just £1,920 on the road) may be a good choice.

Check out our three "D"s to see if commuting on an electric scooter could work for you

An electric moped or electric scooter  is ideal for a commute of up to 20 miles (up to 40 if you choose a twin battery model).  You can recharge the removable batteries at home or at work from an ordinary domestic power socket and there are no road tax or emission charges.

All THELMOCO electric scooters enjoy maximum security ratings and are data-tagged for extra security.

All THELMOCO electric scooters are simple “twist and go”.  If you can ride a bike, then you can ride an electric moped.

You can ride an electric moped or electric scooter on a provisional licence with a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training); but if you passed your driving test before February 2001, you can ride an X-tra, Zen or Senda on your existing licence without a CBT.  You can also ride an Ultra on “L” plates.

THELMOCO electric scooters are legal to ride on the road as long as you have the correct licence, and wear a helmet.  You will also need insurance which can be arranged, quickly easily and cheaply

When the Coronavirus emergency is over, we all have an opportunity to “Build Back Better”.

Electric cars may be too expensive and there are concerns about charging infrastructure.  But with an electric scooter you can start to “Go Green” straight away.  Not only will you save a huge amount of money in fares ( a 20 mile round trip commute will cost you less than £0.20p),  you will be helping to keep our roads quiet, our skies clear and our planet healthier.
