Looking for an electric scooter to beat the congestion charge?
If you need an electric scooter to get you to work without paying the congestion charge and to avoid the crowds on trains and buses we have the ideal electric scooter for you.
Speed and range
Our fastest scooter, the Ultra speeds along at up to 50mph which is great if your journey includes faster roads. Other models are ideal for crowded London streets but still travel at a useful 28 mph and include twin removable batteries which deliver a range of up to 90 miles depending on how they are ridden. All of our scooters can be charged from a normal domestic three pin socket. A full charge usually takes around 4 hours and will cost around 25 pence. There is no road tax on an electric moped and because they don’t use petrol, they can enter congestion and low emission zones free of charge. Electric scooters are often allowed in bus lanes.
Choosing your electric scooter
The Ultra is a 125cc equivalent scooter with a powerful 4000W motor which will cover up to 60 miles on a single charge. For good looks and a clean modern look buy a THELMOCO X-tra with its striking font lights and streamlined design. For the more classically minded, the THELMOCO Zen is the electric scooter of choice with its echoes of Kenneth Moore in the 39 Steps and many other great movies. If your scooter is for delivery or courier work, then the 3000W THELMOCO Senda is the electric scooter for you. Its sleek lines and powerful motor are designed to deal with city traffic and frequent starts and stops.
Who can ride an electric scooter?
If you passed your driving test before February 2001 you are automatically entitled to ride the X-tra, Zen or Senda without taking a further test. For riders who passed their test after February 2001,or who want to ride an Ultra, a simple CBT will be needed in addition to a normal provisional licence.
